Map of Relationship Intelligence® therapists

Dear friends,

I am pleased to announce the forthcoming publication of a book I had the honour of contributing to through the chapter entitled:

The Relational Intelligence Model of Psychotherapy:

A Neurobiological and Relational Approach to Treating Trauma.

The book is written in English and is co-edited by Stephen Porges. It is part of an innovative set of research and theories from leading figures in the fields of psychotrauma and somatic therapies. It is a significant consolidation of innovative research and clinical work for treating trauma using a variety of somatic approaches.

Over the last six decades, many new therapeutic methods have emerged around the world, revolutionising the treatment of trauma and the management of existential distress. These approaches however have often diverged, thus preventing the development of a distinct coherent field, positioned alongside the traditional paradigms.

The book combines the work of some of the world's leading experts in the field of psychological trauma.

It aims to clearly explain this new field of research and clinical intervention. It outlines the common thread that links the authors and introduces a new clinical perspective: One that is based on the recognition of the profound significance of the bodily relationship between the therapist and the patient, the essential role of establishing trust in the clinical context as a prerequisite for profound transformation and the possibility of ‘questioning’ the body by finding new previously ‘unthought-of’ pathways towards transformation.
